I have this problem with almost every CD in Art Explosion. They won't read in any of the four PC CD drives I have available. My solution, since I have an iMac is to read it there without problem. If you have a CD-R or CD-RW drive available, it might work better than the drive you're attempting to read it in.

Your best bet is to contact the sales office in NY. They will probably exchange the CD for you.

Once you get it resolved, make a backup or copy all the files to a hard drive.

Fred,

I am glad to see that I am not the only one that has had trouble with the Art Explosion discs. They (Nova) said it was my computer and that it wasn't their problem.

Yeah, right.

Sorry about the problem with the Vector Art CD disk. If you would like a new disk, please call the sales office in NY (1-800-597-0688) and we will be pleased to replace it for you. I might mention while I am here, that we have new products at www.vectorart.com that are quite interesting.

Also, I should mention for those of you who knew my late wife Devon, I am very sad to say that she died suddenly on August 12 of cardiac arrest. She had a virus last year that caused her heart to become infected, and although she was nearly back to normal, apparently the nerves of the heart had been damaged.
She was 57, beautiful, charming, full of life and my best al time sweetie. She really loved her job as art director for our company. She mostly liked sending out royalty checks to more than 70 artists who have published with us in the last 15 years.

Best regards

I am sorry for your loss. Its all i can say, cuz no words could replace her or reduce your pain.. I'm sure she was a great person in your life.

to the others ...
There are some utils that could bring out your files from a bad CD if you need them right away..

a program called Badcopy will recover almost all files..

That's is such a tragedy Andrew. I am so sorry to hear about Devon. I didn't know her, but I hope & pray you will find peace amidst the suffering that this loss must bring.

I'm sure many of the other heads, especially those who have known you, who've known you will want to offer their condolences. I will post a topic for the many who might miss this one.

Andrew - I am so very sad for your monstrous loss. So prematurely.
And I hate it for you. You are still very much shocked I am sure. I am so sorry.

----------

Art Explosion update, new version, got here today.
When I filled out the questionnaire and registration postcard, where it said: Which other Clipart etc. do you have, my answer was:
Many. But yours is MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE.
I have NEVER not found an image from your exceptionally good alphabetized lineup. If it's not what I need, it's a start and I can make it work because it is adaptable.

I did an 18 foot van covered with your images Edge printed, all 4 sides, this last month. When they drove it out of here they were so excited they ran into my gate and fence. It was the local YWCA. They scraped a few of the images, damaged the truck, and my gate.
I got them to bring me a quart of paint the color of the truck, I removed the messed up images, did a little banging on the dents, sanded, painted, replaced the images a little larger to hide some of the scratches, and then traded the REPAIR work for two years of membership in the Y as a High Priority Member.
YES!
When I got your update notice in the mail, I did not fill it out and mail it, I called within 15 minutes. You have a fabulous product useable by this industry, I am very glad I once upon a time walked into Best Buy and bought it.

I am going to give my now obsolete version to a signshop no more than a mile from me. They are a great neighbor, let me know who the people are who did not pay, and they accept jobs when I send them because I am too busy, whenever that happens.
