Yep, finally my EDGE2 arrived yesterday. I just spent a portion of the night setting things up and trying to understand most of the feature. I have worked with an edge classic before (3 years ago)but I'm quite rusty with it! I getting my training from Gerber next week. This is going to be very interesting and fun.

Denis,
Laissez les bon temps roulez!
Now the fun begins.
I love Gerber, but the foils from ZeroNine and Duracoat are quite acceptable, in my opinion, and much cheaper. Never had a problem with either. Remember though, there are slight color variations in the foils. Don't try to substitute a different CYMK color in the middle of a job. Example: don't put the Magenta Duracoat in to complete a job started with Gerber foil. IF the vinyl will be "panelized" or IF they are close enough to each other to compare, there will be a noticable difference.

No surprise to anyone who knows me...I totally disagree with Gene (to each his own, of course)...

That shiny new EDGE2 of yours is finely tuned for performance with Gerber materials...they will give you the best, most reliable (and hassle free)results day-in and day-out.

So stick with all-Gerber MTS components (Materials, foils), rather than wasting your LIMITED, VALUABLE TIME dinkering (that's a cross between "dinking" and "tinkering") with aftermarket stuff for the purpose of pinching pennies.

Focus your LIMITED, VALUABLE TIME on marketing: finding the right customers with the right needs...who will pay whatever you ask (within reason, obviously) because you will be offering them the best solution.

I agree with Jon as well, stick with the gerbercolor foils. It is my belief they stand up better than the duracoat foils.

Jon,
Like my sister said to me, "We can agree to disagree". Of course my answer to her was, "No we can't".
Anyway, as has always been noted in these forums, there are many opinions an a vast number of topics. We all have experiences with materials. All I can say is that I've never had one bit of problems with after-market products and my Edge.

Way to go on the Edge 2 purchase. I'm with Gene here....Duracoat and Zero nine have worked well for me when I've used them....
