You never know John some ah-med might stab a pilot in the eye with a dried out fitch ya-know

That by the way was a threat by non other than Jill at her Mars meet when some no-mind spilled paint all over some blue chairs I beleive she borrowed or rented, and if my memory is correct that same sponge spine didn't clean it up.

Just a thought, ever think of shipping them out there?

Why can't you carry them onboard? Just make sure you dress nice because if you took your paint kit as carry on, they might think that you were a street person until you showed them what was inside.

I have never seen a sign kit that looked bad......most are all slicked up. But you would not be able to carry it on a plane.
Si is right...put em in yer checked luggage. Usually at a meet there are brushes for sale, too.
Have a safe flight John!
Love...Jill

We carried our paint kit on board when we went to Mazeppa. Just a few things to remember...

MAKE SURE IT FITS UNDER THE SEAT. Get the measurements off the website for the airline, and don't fudge it - make sure it's not too big!

EMPTY THE CONTENTS AND SORT IT!! No liquids, no knives, no fingernail cutters, no stabby things... heck we took out the yardstick compass thingies!

If you want to bring that stuff, wrap them up and stick them in an envelope in your baggage. I wrote on the outside of the envelope what was inside (exacto knives, etc) for the people that check luggage.

If you're not sure... leave it out!! The kit will go through the security checkpoint, just tell them you are a sign painter going to a meet, etc. You won't have a problem if you don't make it a problem.

My kit has been on several airplane rides. I wrap everything well & put it in my checked bag. I've yet to have a problem.

No problem with bringing your kit, John. You need to disguise smells though. If you're bringing any brush oil or varnishes you need to stuff any vacant areas in the box with home grown buds and they will keep stuff from rattling and the smell will throw off the dogs at security.

If anyone would like to ship anything to the meet that they're not comfortable taking on the plane, I'm offering my shop's address. I'll take it to the meet where your package will be waiting for you. Email me if interested.
