Has anyone ever used this product? I saw this on an infomercial. I don't normally pay attention to these types of things, however this caught my attention. It is used for the repair or bonding of aluminum. The only heat source needed is a propane torch. If you have used this, let me know if it works or not.
Thanks
Maris

No ... but the process seems similar to that used to repair bandsaw blades and those usually don't break in the same spot again.

Yes ...I have some laying in the bottom of my welding drawer. I bought them at the State Fair about 12 years back ...I played with them some and while I'm convinced they work (repaired a few things)it is very difficult to master the technique (without melting away the project you are trying to repair) and could hardly be used for anything but repair...welding things together and expecting any stuctural integrity is hoping for more than I believe they were intended.

At any rate their use convinced me that I need to buy a wire welder capable of welding both steel and aluminum...so I did...thus the reason they now live in the bottom of my welding drawer.

Century Welders make a heck of a "little" wire feed welder that is more than ample for sign shop welding (up to 3/16" steel) even 1/4" if you understand how it works...they have both 220v and 120v units and cost under $400.00 plus the bottle rental / lease which on average (around my shop anyway) runs about $150.00 a year.

And it's "far far" superior!

Hope this helps.
