When I started the business "The Copy Shop" was an apt name as all we did was copying & printing, as we moved into vinyl signage in 1995 and wide format in 1998 and into thermal printing this year I needed a new image that covers all bases. I've settled on 'digital color' as catchphrase and reworked the logo to focus on digital. I'm working on bringing dimension into the logo but this is the 'flat' version.

I like the new logo. It seems to work for your business. I enjoy names of businesses that leave lots of options as to what you can do.
I have one comment regarding the design...
When I squint my eyes and look at it (like reading it from a distance) the black drop shadow tends to blend into the lettering. My personal preference would be to do a drop shadow with a considerably lighter color than the lettering - perhaps a light blue or a gray?

You didn't exactly ask for critics, so I hope you won't mind this: I like the ideas that went into this, like the "pixels" on the far right. Cool. I don't like your choice of font for the main copy. In my opinion, all caps in a non serif font (like Bauhaus heavy) would be more effective. Maybe in a darker blue with a light feathered shadow.

Hi Trannie. Just a suggestion...Like Lotti, I think the pixels are nice. But I think than the "digital color" panel should be the same magenta as in the pixel thingy. I would lose the drop shadow entirely. "COPY SHOP" would look better in all caps, because the descenders interfere with the digital color panel. I would make it black too. This will stand out more. I also agree with Lotti about the sans-serif font. Just some friendly ideas. Love- JILL

I like it but I'd drop the shadow. Not even in light grey.
What purpose does the shadow really serve?
I like the triangle's the way they are. With the straight edge facing the copy it brings the eye to the start of the lettering.
I think the font is fine as is using upper/lower. I always find it much easier to read than all caps.

Its a good design Mike. If I were doing it though, I would use different fonts. I really like the triangle shapes, but something about the dark color as they overlap throws me a bit. If you do use a shadow, and I do alot, I would possibly shadow all elements. Thing is , if you like it, thats what matters. I aint trying to tell you what to do. Here's a sample of what I am talking about.

The only thing I had a hard time with was my eyes wanting to "go against the grain" and felt the triangles were pulling my eyes to the left.
I went in a little different direction on the idea...heheh
I like the process colors overlapping, but thought toning them down a bit would give the text more pominance. I also felt the drop shadow touching the lettering took away from clarity (squint test) and added a little white space to break it away a bit from the main copy.
A little italicizing, just for a change of shape in the triangles.

Most of you focused on the font which is something I agonised over and ended being up not entirely happy with, I see that a lighter shadow works much better... Thanks all, I had hit a wall, but now I've got some different directions to explore.
Geez Randy... now I'm going through a Canadian identity crisis! I've been looking at that word for 3 months and never noticed... the borgs are coming ... I've been assimilated...

John Deaton's version has my vote...just need to add a drop shadow on the red portion of the arrow cast from the cyan arrow above it...this would look a little more dimensional AND be in keeping with the other shadows...
And, if you have digital capabilities, why not add some shape with highlight & shadow on the words "Copy Shop"...keep it subtle though...too much and it will be hard to read when driving by at 70 mph.
