Here are a few jobs I recently did while playing around with techniques that are not my usual market but are fun to do. The first one is a gift that I gave to my "Best Man" at my recent wedding. He has a pool table downstairs and that looks just great on the wall next to it... for those interested, that's how you write it in french... It's all made of pine boards, 1-shot and crackle varnish.
Next is a project that could qualify in RouterWars. The bottom part is a solid 3x3 piece of maple 16" long with a piece of slate on top carved on my AXYZ CNC router. The slate is just the cheaper stuff you'll get in the flooring dept at your local hardware store, but still turned out OK !
Before anyone says it, yes I got the original inspiration from an old Signcraft with an article by Rob Cooper...

Nice work Rene.... but the axyz doesn't count for ROUTER WARS Raymond... it looks to me like he did it by hand and not on the router.

Dan... I did cut the slate on the AXYZ using a 130* blade. I then went back at it with a chisel to square off some corners because the uneven surface of the slate makes it hard to give it a fixed surface so your corners are not all the same.
