Does that include freight, Diane? We have an old Kubota here (40 hp) and a post hole auger, but the rocky ground down the back is tough on both of us, and I really need some more holes down near the old railway line. I do have a spare borehole up here that is defunct, and I was considering pulling it up, cutting it into 4 ft sections, and using those holes, but your offer sounds better.

Do you install them too? Which way is up- north american ones may just be the wrong way round for down here- I'll have to check that? Are they termite-proof?

I'll take three dozen here as I have to relocate a fence in the next couple of weeks and them post holes can be expensive! I'd only take them if you throw in installation though.

Diane,

I think Roy Frisby's already a Merchant here for those. Besides, Ian and Dan need metric post holes.

How many come in a bag - and do they come in colors or are they all black holes? I've got plenty of black holes here in the shop. That's where I keep my exacto knives, vinyl pickers, squeegees, single-edge razor blades and the like. I even brought some home to keep extra socks and the DVDs that never get put back in the cases.

And playing off of OP's thread - what do they smell like? I don't want any if the smell like ass - too many a$$holes already.

Now this may be a hair-brained idea, if it is would someone please kindly tell me....

But I'd like to buy a bunch to put in an in-ground pool... I do have a few questions though..

1. Do you sell them in varying depths? I'd like my pool to be 8' deep on one end and 3' on the other, so what are the increments in which I can order the holes in? Can they be stacked to get the correct depth?

2. What pattern do you recommend using to get the best coverage? I'm pretty lazy, so I'd like to get away from ANY shovel digging if possible. I'm thinking of the straight rows and then coming back in and trying to place more holes on the areas left in between... will this work? I'm including a couple graphics to explain my plan.

 -

After placing them in the above pattern, I will go back the second time over in the locations below..

 -

If you think this will not work, I can settle for the following method, as I think the extra will just fall to the bottom of the hole and I can use the loose dirt to shape up the hole for the liner... I do need rounded corners on the bottom and can use the dirt there.

 -

3. Are these things hard to use? Are they safe? I'm pretty good with my hands, but not so much with thinkin' so I'd like some pretty straight forward instructions on exactly how to do this... If I accidently let a few of these loose and end up with holes in my house, truck, cat, wife etc.. I will never hear the end of it.

I appreciate your help...

I have to set the record straight...

April fools day I took Diane to breakfast then started talking about getting a Kubota. Of course she was against it all the way. Naturally I took that as a good sign and drove by the Kubota store on the way home!

Finally she realized it was April Fools and I'm off the hook. Of course I don't get a nice tractor like Joe.
