How should I go about it? I had one printed, and now I'm not sure how to finish the edges. Normally I would just banner tape the edges, add gromets, and call the customer to pick it up.
I guess I'm wondering just how much junk the edges will collect with banner tape through the holes in the mesh. What about brushing it with talc after its finished to remove the sticky stuff exposed through the mesh?
If you've ever done one, how did you finish it?

Tim, Just caught this thread. I would sew the edges a double or triple stitch and then trim the excess, then glue the edges, finally turn or edge with your hemtape or finish strip folded, glued and stitched again. That's just my way; there may be a better way also. I really like the look and performance of the mesh for the airflow too. btw, Tim, I would place some brown craft paper under the mesh when sewing, and then, tear it away after you finish. This reinforces the mesh as it sails along under the needle.

Unfortunately, I am your typical bachelor male. No sewing machine or even an iron for that matter, lol. Permanent press baby! wash n wear!
Would there be any reason not to use the banner tape to hem the edges? It is a limited use banner. I am just concerned if I use the double-sided banner tape, that the adhesive would collect dirt and grime through the mesh.

Tim, There must be a shop that does that finishing in a heartbeat. I always used outside when I get tired or too busy to sew. Someone that sews toneau covers for boats, etc. or an awning shop may do it for cheap and quickly. I think it should have a binding to hold it and looks a lot better. Check your yellow pages, but if you go with the tape, maybe you can put a clear where it would pick up dirt? I don't know but you have an interesting point.
