LOL,
Is this "a poll of sorts" ??
(see "the Pollster" Todd Gill for a definition of what that is, I'm just the Joker . . . )

I wonder how many strikes before your OUT??
(I mean, will I get SO kicked fer this . . .?)

ANYWAY . . . I was just thinkin' . . .
we got forums open for many subjects as follows:

~Letterhead/Pinhead Talk

~The Portfolio table

~Classifieds

~Design/Cost Workshop

~Letterville Merchants, and others . . .

So it would be good to have a forum for roasting people.

We could call it "POST ROASTS".

LOOK!! Before you get "ill", note that this forum would help 5 groups of people here:

1. If you have a deep and on-going need and desire to flame anyone, spill your guts, chew any body up, spew negativity, spit anybody out, share your deepest agg'ervations, take no prisoners, make your frustrations known specifically in a mass of incensed word-illustrations, pick any body's nose, or otherwise express your opinion graphically, this would be a forum where you could make this happen!

VOTE here.

2. Meanwhile, those who do not wanna deal with anything, are non-confrontational, pacifist, idealistic, non-boat-rockin', sweet to a fault, easy-goin', "feel-the-love" tolerance-preaching types can just opt NOT to go to that forum unless they are feeling especially guilty about anything, or have a need for a little excitement, at which point it would be understood NO whining alllowed about the forum's content.

If this is you VOTE 2.

3. A ROAST forum would be the perfect place for jokers, ad-libbers, stand-up comedians, the sarcastic & witty and others who never understand the issues in a serious way, and choose humor to avoid them anyway, to hone their skills . . . after all, Letterville IS about honing ANY skills . . . . . uh, ain't it???

Vote here wise---.

4. A forum such as this would also be especially helpful for the responsible, activist, governmental, establishment types who are aware of the need for action but never see results with their positive positions and attempts to manage situations with logic and reason and positive attitude....

"I VOTED" stickers available for those who vote 4.

5. You are strictly a Letterhead. Fundamentalist to the core. You ARE a little bit of all these people, but NOT outside the realm of ANYTHING involving signs. You need to know that all of these other people will be living primarily at the ROAST POST FORUM and allowing Letterville to be ONLY about signs, thus you will neverhave to see the letters OT again.

VOTE 5.

EDITED For commentary:

News reporter:
"Joker, it's been interesting to note the real and earnest, post toasters, as well as the "flames of opinions", vehemenent comments and bravado of several, now suddenly seem quiet? Can you explain this phenomenon of silence? Perhaps TOO much truth in humor is simply not good medicine?"

"Well News, I tho't at first it was because Heads found zero humor in the opportunity to have a forum dedicated to their own cause, and the cause of so many,
....together . . .
at the same time . . .
but a survey has informed me that, even with a totally comedic, illustriative, genuinely revelatory, irony-in-humor-based perspective, using exaggerated truth, they still feared reprocussion from any one of, or all of the various groups who are touched . . . er', recognized here . . .

Fortunately "ART is bjective", and while many works of art have been feared thru the centuries, some for their sheer genius and some for their hideous content . . .isn't it sadly ironic that people would fear simple humor?

However, regardless of the fear factor, it is indeed a sad position when people are afraid to laugh AT themselves and WITH others."

Thank you for your time, your smile, your sneer, . . .whatever. [Wink]

Ok Sheila, I'll bite...

You seem to be one who would use the P.R. forum as a # 3 personality.

I won't "out" any 2's...but I think we have some & yes... if thats any of you out there, a roasting place may be a good one for avoiding.

I would like to fool myself that I am also a good natured participant logging in as a 3... but history tells a different story... The fact is the appeal of such a forum to the, often dormant, wild & wicked #1 personality would be too great to allow further denial... the beast within would rear it's ugly head & like a spectacle at the Zoo...
inhuman displays of carnivoracity, & an ignorant apathy to all social graces would be laid bare... held at bay only by the frail confines of the PR forum cage. uh... yeah, ...hmmmm, maybe we don't really need that forum just yet [Smile]

(SHEILA...you did it... you solved the riddle of my circus panel composition... EUREKA!!! I think I'm on to something [Smile] )

Sheila,
I've been 1 through 5 at any particular moment of any particular day. Like a conversation at a large family dinner, you will weave in and out of a variety of topics. As it is, I very rarely venture out of this L/PH Talk forum. I'm content to find, or start, my topic here.
If it ain't fixed, don't broke it.

Edit: I think as close as we got to a good roast recently was the Old Paint / Corner rounder episode. Some things just go in a "good-natured ribbing" direction. Others may go totally awry too easily.

DISCLAIMER: (Inspired by the "too serious" who, apparently also need their own forum)
"ANY RESEMBLENCE TO ANY THING SERIOUS IN THE ORIGINAL SATIRICAL POST IS MERELY A COINCIDENCE AND NOT TO BE VIEWED AS SERIOUS POSSIBILITY. WHILE SOME MAY VIEW IT AS SUCH, IT WAS NOT THE INTENT OF THIS POST TO ILLICITE SERIOUS RESPONSES, BUT SIMPLY TO POKE FUN AT HUMAN NATURE BY ISOLATING INTO SEPARATE GROUPS, ALL THE VARIABLES OF EVERY INDIVIDUAL'S PERSONALITY."

Unless you are some kind of Mr.Spock, or have severe tunnel vision, or you're an extreme extremist with one isolated view, or a robot, how COULD you vote?
. . . have you had your Post Toasties today??

Before you can eat a roast, you need some sort of meat. Here's some cheap roadkill recently spotted on the main street of Fergus, Ontario.

That looks a little hard to roast barb, I'd worry about it falling off the spit, however, were it chopped into small cubes it would make for an interesting fondue. Some cloves and perhaps a light wine marinade.... Hmmm ... drool

Did I ever tell you my middle name is Hannibal.

Whoops- Sheila, you also need a category number 7 for all those people who refuse to be boxed, labelled or categorised in any way at all, but then that sort of becomes an oxymoron, and a bit redundant (ie "Join here if you don't like joining anywhere else") then suddenly you're uncategorised anymore.

I guess we have all been thinking about this. I know you say you are kidding, but there is WAY too much truth in what you are kidding about to ignore.

Letterville is an enormously important resource for Letterheads everywhere. Letterville exists as it is and needs to abide by the policies it has in place for very good reasons.
