Here are some photos of the new project that just got put in my lap.
This is the "new" truck the flower crew is going to use around town to water all the hanging baskets and flower beds. They used to use 15years back and have just got the rig running again.
My mission, if I choose it or not, is to reletter it. The truck is not getting a paint job (unless I do it, which I have no clue how to do) So the options are just re-do what was done. Or repaint of the lettered sections and then use a new layout. Obviously this will be gilded text. I thought maybe carve a floral panel for the back rather than just paint. I'm looking for ideas.
I love my job working for the city as an artist!!

Looks like fun! You could work with the existing layout and add a convex shadow or convex the letter itself. Flower Crew and DPW are all nice big block letters which would look great with fancy inlines or outlines.
You could add some super graphic flowers over the edges of the wheel wells.
If the town has a "communities in bloom" slogan you can add it for interest.
Just my thoughts! Thanks for sharing the project! I look forward to seeing what you do with it!

Thanks for your ideas Dawn. I like the flowers on the wheel wells.

...I would cover it with GOLD flowers and gold 'vintage style' scrolls and stripes. In theme w. the oriinal ornamental decorations but WAY over the top. Why not blow some minds?

I thought of maybe tracing that floral motif on the back and rendering it full-color 3D in SignFoam, then applying to the truck with double-faced tape.
Or go to your craft store and buy bags of loose silk flower heads and silicone them on to the truck one at a time (like Hildy did with that bathroom on Trading Spaces) Nah maybe not...
