I don't know who is registered the longest, but I have Si beat by 4 days.

Diane...Actually your registration date shows as Jan.13 2000.
I believe Bruce's first meet in North Tonawanda was in 1997. It was my first meet and a huge eye opener as to what could be accomplished. I remember it as your first meet also.

I'm showing 1996. I think the site had been around for a year or so when I joined.

I first got an internet connection in '96 and I'm sure this is one of the first sites I became interested in. There were quite a few here already. A local guy, Neil Woodgate, who used to stir up a little trouble here, first told me about it.

I don't know how you find such info, but I had a member number in the thirties, then something changed and I got a new number a couple years later. I have been enjoying this group for a long time and consider you all family.

My profile shows October 10, 1997. I'm a youngster!

Si, I could not get that link to work. Also, remember the original page of members profiles? and the first pages for the green button chat? I can't find any of that anymore either.
Posted by Dave Grundy (Member # 103) on :
Then search for yourself, click on your shop name and your original profile will show up. That page is also located in the left panel as "Find a Letterhead". That info is from the original website before Steve updated this forum program in 1998.

October 96...sure seems like yesterday. I have to admit, I have learned a few tricks here. 33 years of watching these stories and still impressed with the community, although I do not check in very often any more. www.prestonmccall.com www.mccallfineart.com www.motorsigns.com www.artownership.com Posted by DianeBalch (Member # 1301) on :
I just did a search, on FIND A LETTERHEAD, for the following people. Since Barb & Steve started this site, I figured 1995 or 1996 as the latest. It has them listed as 3/18/1997
Dave Grundy. 5/5/96 Bruce Evans. 5/26/96 Si Allen. 7/18/96 Bruce Bowers. 8/18/96 Rick Sacks. 11/3/96 Barb & Steve Shortreed. 3/10/97 Diane & Ernie Balch. 4/24/97 Chuck Peterson. 9/5/99

So Dave Grundy is member 103. Who would be number one? Or maybe the Shortreeds started with number 101 as their first member and Dave was actually the third member.

1958,,,oh that's when I was born. I think,,,I don't know know.

Do you find it interesting that Grundy was a member nearly a year before Shortreed?
Posted by Don Hulsey (Member # 128) on :
Dave was probably on here before Al Gore invented the internet.
Posted by Dave Grundy (Member # 103) on :
LOL !!!
I asked Steve about member "numbers" a long time ago. Maybe 20 years ago. At the time, he just said that the "numbers" were just randomly assigned. Or maybe it was based on close proximity to "letterhead.com" head office in Fergus Ontario Canada
Don...Si and I were online way before Gore came along!!! LOL

Dave, there once was a page here that was for the members to introduce themselves. It had the chat names and a brief bio. Do you still have a link to that page?
Posted by Dave Grundy (Member # 103) on :
I think this is the link you are talking about Rick..
Dave, it was before that. I think it had a black background and was more associated with the chat than membership. There's a guy who's name I'm wanting to connect with that was on one of those profiles.
Posted by Dave Grundy (Member # 103) on :
Sorry Rick, I don't see anything like that. Who were you looking for?
Posted by Rick Sacks (Member # 379) on :
If I could remember his name I wouldn't be looking for that page. I think he called himself Lone Wolf or something like that on the chat. He lived down in the southern California desert.
Posted by Rick Sacks (Member # 379) on :
Dave, his name is Nelson
Posted by Dave Grundy (Member # 103) on :
Rick, these are the only "Nelson"s listed that I could find.
