....that is the question. Anyone painting PVC with automotive urethanes. Do you need to prime it? If so with what? THANKS!!!!

Yes! Prime it with Ticoat...urethanes and PVC don't like each other.

I prime all pvc, posts and panels with 2 part epoxy primer from auto jobber. I also will topcoat with urethanes AND LATEX, has worked great

Rob,
Since this question's popped up a couple of times recently, the guys at the body shop and I are gonna knock out some tests tonight. Been meaning to get to it for a couple of weeks.

The best way would be to prime with Modified Acrylic Screen ink, then treat as normal.

If you give it enough TOOTH(Sanding)it'll hang on to the rough edge well enough, then prime with a heavy/thick coat of frog juice.

Is Ticoat still available?

I use a product called "Bulldog" its a primer made for plastic bumpers for auto body work
