PT Sideshow
Hi fellow Letterheads! I'm PT Sideshow aka Glen R. Perye Jr. from Mt. Clemens, Michigan. I'm a clown, sideshow freak, block head & fire eating, magic, electro boy/prop builder magic and illusions/ sign painter. I've always had an interest in signage, mainly banners for the Outdoor Amusement biz.
When I was a kid, the only signguy in my area kept the door to the shop locked and the windows covered. He did let me sweep out the shop, but would hide everything and stand there to make sure I only swept the floor. I think he was convinced I was a midget spy from another shop.
Well, I didn't learn much about signs, but did develop a keen interest in the shrouded mysteries of the brush, which I promptly forgot when I got out of high school.
I was at a flea market one day where I found a copy of SignCraft Magazine. It changed my life! I called the next day and had them send me a subscription. Learned a lot of things and still learning new sign stuff everyday. Have been to 4 Sign Biz shows, all the local Pinhead & Letterhead meets as well as the Walldogs Meet in Belvidere, Ill. It was a truly mystical event.
I'm 48 years old, married with two adult children, one of each. We also share our home with a dog, cat and 25 parrots of assorted sizes and types. I have a full time job as a Licensed 1st Class Stationary Engineer (operate and maintain boilers, turbines and steam engines of unlimited horsepower) for the Detroit Public Schools as a Building Engineer at an elementary school.
