It's always a real pleasure to introduce a new Letterville Merchant. When that Merchant is a friend, fellow Letterhead, and longtime Letterville supporter, it is personally gratifying to play a small part in spreading the word about his exciting new product.
Many of you are already fans of Steve Thomas Greer and his delightfully, wacky cartoons and signs. He is especially well known for his dimensional creations. You've seen him do his magic at various Letterhead Meets and trade shows. We all love 3D. Your customers will too!
Steve offers a product called Magic Smooth & Sculpt. He has an excellant website that describes the products and uses, but I want to introduce you all to the basic products.
Magic Smooth
Magic-Smooth is a spreadable two-part epoxy that can be used over virtually any material. Its greatest features are the ease with which it coats any type of foam. Carve a form in foam, coat it with a thin layer of Magic-Smooth, create your texture and you've got a very strong resilient surface that can be tooled or painted easily. Magic-Smooth can also be pigmented or mixed with metal powders to create a strong bonded metal coating on any surface. Ideal for fine detail and is strong enough to hold a deep texture as well as be sanded or machined to create a very smooth surface.
This two part modeling and sculpting material is extremely soft and pliable, in its mixed form, has excellent adhesions, non-toxic and cleans up easily with soap and water. It will cure at room temperature to a hard, solid finish that can be filed, sanded, dremeled, ground and polished to a glass-like surface finish.
Magic Sculpt
Magic Sculpt has an indefinite shelf life. It replaces so many other compounds that have a limited useable life span, so you’ll never waste any because it won't dry up.
Use Magic-Sculpt for:
Direct Sculpting Creates a smooth or textured surface Adding texture to existing materials Adding fine details to sign foam "signs" Adhering materials together Repairing damage to signage Use for larger scale signage and design work Will not shrink or crack Fixing imperfections in any sign substrates
