Heck, Mark, is there anything you can't do? Talk about diversity. I've always wanted to do an Honors Board. Everything looks great. Love....Jill

Thanks for the comments guys alot of the signies in australia do a broad range of work just what we offer. Jill honour boards are great to do I have a local chippie who makes the boards and he stains them real dark (darker the better for the gold to show out. The netball one I cheated on this as it is a versacamm print of the shadows and outlines and ribbon the previous boards I have done I hand painted everything then applied gold vinyl.

Anne thanks for the comments, no I won't be going to the letterheads in cowra, letterhead meets are a blast in Oz you will have a great time. If the letterhead meets get a bit closer to south australia my home state I will definately go.
Joe one thing I have never tried is carved signs, like the stuff dan does on a router not sure if clients would pay for that kind of work.

Hey, Mark, NSW is about as close to SA as you can get!
(P.S. the next Visual Impact magazine due out soon, has a story about 3D signs I did- all by hand though, not CNC. You CAN do it , too!)

Ian you are probably right probably 12-13 hour drive, should consider it but still probably lose 5 days downtime plus travelling, accomodation, food costs etc. Ian could you email me your article when you get it as I don't get that magazine and would be interested to see what you have done.

If you want any information on Shane Durnford's workshops let us know. This is a great opportunity for us Aussies to get a jump start on this type of signage in Australia. You mention whether clients would pay for this type of signage, the workshop covers alot about selling & marketing dimensional signs. We've got plenty of room if accommodation is a problem. We'd love to see you here in Pambula.

it's well-priced & full of good stuff actually. There's a free online version, or you can subscribe to the PDF version for free I think, but the current PDF version isn't the latest one up there: http://www.visa.org.au/VIMagazine.htm
There's a big 'How to' chapter on hand carving by Danthonia, in the latest edition, too (came in the post today).
I'll email you the story, but it'll take a couple of emails, because of all the photos. I guess I should put it on our website someday...
