A bit of a rant.. well, maybe a whine...

Having a bit of cabin fever recently, I took a long walk downtown. Passing by a carved sign that I designed and built about 15 years ago I noticed it had just been repainted. I have no problem with this. It was due, and the work was faithful to the original finish.

But what stood out to me was that the outfit that did the repaint put their rather large company sticker prominently on the post facing the sidewalk, which might lead an observer to think they had created the original project (which I'm rather fond of)

Am I out of line to think this is rather tacky?

Or you could do a repaint of the post and put your name where theirs was [Bash] [Rolling On The Floor]

or put your sticker over theirs and it may give them the hint that what they did was a bit misleading. Or you could call them and tell them you think it a violation of giving credit where it is due?

Tacky? - no. Underhanded, misleading, fraudulent? - yes! I might be overreacting but I would definitely do something about that. They are getting credit for your work.

Aww, just take it off and put on one of your stickers. Now if it seems to fall off and the painter's sticker suddenly gets back on there, well that's a call to arms! Nail it in!
