We moved back to KC from Santa Fe, two weeks ago. Santa Fe is seriously shut down and with the lack of tourists, the town is in serious decline. Everything is now closed.
The drive back was harrowing in the rain and heavy fog. Suzie got lost, following me and was a bit steamed when she arrived two hours later than did I.
KC seems like everything is up to speed, however most small businesses are shuttered. I have talked with numerous of my old clients (new car dealers) who all are very concerned about business. Sales are off some 50% at least and many have laid off their sales staff, leaving skeleton crews working in the service/parts depts. This will be a huge shake out of the weaker stores, for sure.
I have spent the past 18 months learning Blender and video. Social media seems to need attention with making videos advertising businesses. I have made some 50 of these so far and they are being well received. www.PrestonMcCall.com to see some.
Love doing these as I can do all of this remotely and never leave the house. It is like paintings signs, but not having to go deliver them. What a great deal.
Learning 3D has been a major challenge. Blender is so cool and I am only about 75% up to speed with it. It is open source (free to download) Blender.org. Great community on Youtube with many how tos. Very few are seemingly working with lettering, though. Most are designing furyy little creatures with jet packs for animation and movie work.
Glad to hear from any of you letterheads. Hope everyone is well and keep the faith. This will not last that long and we will be back out there soon.
Willchange the address as soon as I can figure that out.
