Jimmy will be missed for sure, he was a fine gentleman with a heart of gold. He endured way more than any one person should have to, R.I.P. Jimmy.

I think there are probably a lot of people on here that never had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy face to face, so I feel like I need to share this little story.
Years ago Jimmy had suffered a couple of strokes, and was unable to work. His wife had her own medical problems, and they had no health insurance, but they were managing to keep going.
Troy Haas had a few financial setbacks, and I asked for help for his family on Letterville. I asked people to send checks to me so Troy would not know who had sent how much. I have never told anyone who had sent the money, but I think I can this time. The first check that arrived was from Jimmy Chatham.
A few years later Pat King had some problems, and was about to lose the family homestead. Again I asked for help here, and again the first check came from Jimmy. I am pretty sure this was after Jimmy had knocked a heater over with his wheelchair, and burned his house down.
As George said, Jimmy endured way more than any person should have to, but he was always ready and willing to do whatever he could to help someone else.
Through the years I started to think of Jimmy as one of the greatest men I had ever known, and I always will.
I thank God for allowing me to become friends with Jimmy Chatham.
