I am looking for a rubber like material similar to floor mats used in children's playrooms. I need a product that can be glued/attached to cinder block walls. Circles, stars, squares and puzzle pieces like pictures here will be cut out and painted. I have searched on Google but I haven't found anything yet. Perhaps someone has used this type of material before.

We have made shapes to go on walls out of PVC . Use white 3mm or 6mm. Cover the front in vinyl to give the colours you want. Had the pieces route red out to give a very smooth edge. You can cut the stuff by hand with a utility knife or an exacta. Ours project went on drywall. We used Vhb tape to apply.

Thanks for the information, Chuck. I thought about using PVC. This material used in the pictures looks thinner than the rubber mat material. These will be used inside, is it possible to prime and paint it? They have paint colors picked out.

Judy; I have been experimenting with Truck Bed Coatings and they work very well. I use regular Styrofoam for the shape and have the local bed liner spray it. You can prime with any acrylic paint and then paint with whatever. It is very resilient and practically unbreakable. Jer/Artworx

Thanks Gerald, will check with local dealer. How thick is the Styrofoam you used?

I think we painted PVC once about 20 years ago. Don't remember what we did to prep it. Maybe someone else in Lrtterville .that swings paint brushes regularly could provide professional advice

we paint PVC all the time with acrylic latex exterior paint. No priming - just scuff lightly with abrasive pad and spray or roll paint. We mostly use white PVC and if we use black we still paint it black.

Although they are intended to be used on the floor, they could be contour cut and adhered to any wall....They have a little bit of texture.....Who knows.....It might work.

Thanks for Chuck & Jean. Was wondering if it had to be primed.

Thanks Ricardo. I found this website in my search but I need different size shapes & puzzle pieces. Looks like 22" and 26" squares is all the mat material comes in.

Judy, do a search for companies that make trade show displays.....like Creative Display, for instance.

They showcase many different kinds of floor and wall coverings, some of them soft.....that might fit your needs.
