Today I scraped some vinyl off a window and I must say it was rather attractive. The letters were a white that looked like a pearl and I assume translucent. There was a shiny chrome outline that wasn't a Mylar or polyester, it felt like a vinyl. Anyone able to steer me in defining these products please???

Sounds like the white might be a pearlescent industrial window film - I just cut some logos into a similar material for installation on an interior conference room. The chrome is probably the high-end 3M or Coburn film, which has a vinyl feel to it and is rated for a much longer outdoor life than the polyester stuff.
Just guessin'.....

It could have been metallic silver printed on chrome vinyl on the Edge. Gerber's Deluxe Silver handles allot more like vinyl than polyester.

It also could have been Edge Silver Medal printed on Arlon's 120 Perl white however the Silver Medal isn't rated for outdoor exposure.

the window I stripped had the cut pearl letters and then the chrome outline was cut and applied slightly overlapping the letters. The pearl looks white on the backside, but since it was stuck on the inside of the glass it should just look white, but I could see the pearl. That's why I think it was a translucent.
