Just curious. How many people here would participate in periodic design contests? Sort of like the "design and pricing workshop" in SignCraft, but just design. Wording and maximum square footage. Maybe even a picture of a fictional building fascia that the sign would need to go onto.
Or maybe not a contest at all, but just a fun exercise.
Any interest and/or ideas to make something like this fun for everybody?

I would have some trouble justifying the time that would go into it. Two things— I need to make more money with paying jobs and (especially in summer) there's family/recreation time to consider.
That said, I could often find the time if the design will be used for a good cause.

A fun exercise? If it's fun, I'm in. I'll be sure to have a glass of "Inspiration" before I exercice. But ya gotta make the "Jobs" fun too. No sign ordinances!

It might be more productive if someone offered a real job scenario and we could submit our own takes on the project. For example, if you had a customer who needed a sign or logo design, you'd be able to show them several varied ideas from our talent pool. At least someone could make a few bucks on the exercise.
