What the heck are "Pole Pockets" in banners. I may already know the answer, but never had any use for them. Are they so the banner can be mounted on ploes?

Yes that's it Alicia. The banner is hemmed with a certain amount of extra space in the ends (at the top and bottom) to allow a pole to slide into it.

That's what I figured. I had a customer ask for pole pockets on a banner. But i knew that they wouldn't work for what she was asking for. Her banner is 12' x 3' and gonna be hung between two 8 in. metal posts that is already got three bigger signs up on top.

Alicia, The customer might be looking for the pole pockets to be the 12' lenght so they can run a air craft cable through the pocket and secure to the posts

you can also ask for the pockets to be sewn closed at one end for certain applications such as parade banners etc. Just be sure to get proper measurements.
