I heard from a friend about this group he's in. Cost $99 a month. There is a huge building full of tools and equipment and supervision and instruction should you want it. They have vinyl cutters, CNC routers, tube benders, welders, computers, sewing machines, rather full wood shop, milling machines and metal shop, etc. All available for monthly dues. Rather amazing. Now if you live nearby, you could have access to a world of the latest and greatest without needing to do the maintenance. Whatha think? Tech Shop

That is awesome for those who don't have the space or budget for their own shop. Great selection of tools too, including some high tech stuff !

This is a great opportunity for those who live in a city, never able to have a shop of their own. With the instruction given it appears to be a safe way to learn to use some pretty neat tools.

Why does living in a city preclude someone from having a shop of their own? Just wondering...

Having enough (expensive) land to build a shop generally means one has to live away from a major city - unless they have enough money to have a house, shop and tools. In our neck of the woods anything even close to a city is VERY expensive. Many who want to live there are forced to have a small place or even an apartment or condo. Zoning is also an issue for many and most often applies to those in a city.
