Being that my 'new junk gig' isn't an official paying job as yet, I attempt to enter design competitions whenever I spot one. It pays to try, right?
I'm happy to say a furniture build I did this summer won a Canada wide Upcycle challenge! An outdoor sofa made out of pallet boards was deemed as 'most inventive'. Cool.
And the win? A brand new smokin' cordless drill kit. EXACTLY what I needed and was holding out on until the budget allowed for it. Perfect!
Part of the win includes Canada wide publicity. The last winner got published in McLean's magazine so who knows what may happen this round. But I'll take it!
Now to watch for a competition for a new vacuum cleaner... Desperation is setting in.
