If it is an individual you can block a specific phone number but if the spam is internet based you may need to contact your cellular provider and depending on the provider you may and or may not block messages from the internet,...some providers offer options and others do not,...if the messages and spam are generated from the internet and you block them then you can only receive messages and pics from folks on other cell phones,.....

I've started getting spam calls and text messages on my celphone lately. I looked into blocking them but it's so much hassle I think it's easier to just delete the things and keep your mind as free as you can. With the voice callers, i've found the easiest thing to do is just tell them they need to talk to my Dad and I'll tell him to come to the phone. Then I lay the phone down and forget it, letting them hang on hold until they get tired of it. They're scum and the best thing to do is just give them as hard a time as you can with the least effort.

LOL Dennis...I still do that sometimes too.
But since they called me I often say some "very bad" things to them and they soon cancel the call. I figure since they are calling to harrass me, I'll just harrass back at them!!!
The ones I hate are the prerecorded messages...Who the heck is even gonna listen to them???? And they are no fun to respond to!!!LOL

Disable texting on your plan.. That shuts em all off. I use no texting myself. I find it a real pain no matter what. Get caught in that texting loop and soon you spend more time answering texts than an actual phone call.

I don't know the real answer.... - - - - - But if its all from one number, i think I know a few hundred letterheads who would avenge one of their own by dishing back a taste of their own medicine... multipled times 200 !
I run an app on my android called Mr Number. See if it is available or one like it in apple's app store. You can select certain numbers to block and it will block texts as well. You can even block whole area codes lol

Remember that dentist blog? That was a rare chance to use this modern era of cyber communities and transparency in conversations, to let some one know that labeling an entire profession as "thieves" is NOT ok, and while it's not always possible to change someone's behavior, I believe the power in numbers does make it hard for a widely held point of view to be ignored! As for your situation, I think it's known that I was partly joking... BUT, if you really are under siege by one number only, then while "revenge" isn't ever appropriate, a show of force has helped bring results many times, where one small voice had been ineffective.
Best of luck in shutting down this unwelcome intrusion! Let us know...

Texting is great, for a lot of reasons... I haven't had this problem.... but I have an Android.... not sure if Bob's app would work on an Apple... but I'm going to check it out for my phone... just in case I need it. Thanks Bob.

...but, is texting okay in a theater? Or will that annoying light in the third aisle down result in someone "going Todd" on the poor unsuspecting perp?
