This sign is over 25 yrs old...this is a pic of me in the process of repainting it a couple of years ago...I thought I would add a little something extra this time and give a black fade shadow around the borders, letters, and figure...because the sign is 12' tall and 25' long I used a black spray can to do the fade...well it's been 2 maybe 3 years and look...the black has turned to a light grey...I don't remember the brand I used...anyone recommend a black spray that wont do this...I can always brush blend if this is what all spray cans are going to do.
I forgot to mention...I'm repainting the sign because of a little wind damage...below you see a pile of broken pieces that were at one time a 12' tall Davy Crockett figure...the sign is at the entrance to Davy Crockett State Park...my house overlooks the park...if not for a little wooded hill I could see the sign from my back porch...this glue back is almost complete and I will start repainting this week.

He is already having paint issues, adding one shot will only add more. One Shot is crap.
Latex paint in automotive spray gun. turn the pressure down and the spray fan. Latex will last on this. spray cans are great for inside stuff but I have yet to find one that will stand the test of time.

I agree with Bruce. That's too nice a project to use spray cans on. The latex will work, or if you're looking for oil base, use Sherwin-Williams Industrial enamel.
