As it always does. And as I knew it would in this situation. Quotes are being approved for production this morning. And of course, hospice has called to tell me that it looks like Dad won't make it but a few more days. Never fails.

My heart is heavy as I read your post. Work will be there, work will always be there. Enjoy your dad for whatever time you have left. You won't regret it.
I miss my dad every day.

Oh Dana... that is so sad to hear. It seems we are surrounded by loved loves leaving us this year. Like Bob said, put your dad first; there is always work and when people find out the reason for the delay they are always so understanding.

Dana, you only get one dad. Cherish what time you still can, and if the customers don't undderstand, they weren't worth having in the first place. Thinking of you. Love....Jill

Dana, I ditto the above. I took 2 years off work to handle my folks affairs when they became ill. Not all my customers thought that was a good way to do business but I'm glad I spent all the quality time i could with them . i would not do it any differently in hindsight.

“If we died tomorrow, the company (or people) that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family left behind would feel the loss for the rest of their lives. Why then do we invest so much in our work and so little in our children’s (families) lives?”
