Kelly's thread inspired me to post this about my lovely bride, Jeanne. She turned 65 a few weeks ago and is getting ready to retire from her job in about six months. For the past 17 years she has been the building coordinator for the church we attend.
When we married almost 47 years ago (in September) she worked at a local hospital in order for me to attend college. After graduation and the birth of our two boys, she worked at home to take care of them and to see that they had a Mom to heal the hurts.
When they became teens she re-entered the job market to help them (and us) financially. She began working at our church when I opened my own business 17 years ago. Without her I would never have been able to do the things that I've done.
While I am the dreamer of the family, Jeanne is the solid rock that holds everything together. It has been a miracle that she has put up with me all these years.
When retirement comes she will have the opportunity to do the things that she loves to do, rather than what she has to do in order to keep supporting me and my "habits" (all things Letterheads).
So, this is just a public "thank you" for the support of my closest friend and a life of service to others.

Happy Birthday, Jeanne, a little late. Being the wife of a sign guy has it's up and down, but mostly ups as I see it. Glad you get to retire soon and enjoy the fruits of you labors. Keep that Raymond in line for us!

65 young in physical years, but what does that equal out to in “human years” when you add the Raymond multiplier for 47 of them?
So is there a trip to Jake's Chinese Buffet in someones future?

Happy Birthday Jeanne. I wish you would have let Raymond come to Pontiac so we could see what he would have done to Dan and Jay. I was able to meet Ray at a sign convention in Indy a few years ago. Enjoyed talking to him. Maybe the next meet hopefully.
Sign-cerely, Steve

Yo: Happy 65th Birthday Jeanne! I had this strange feeling I was missing out on a celebration, so I signed in to Letterville to find it.
And it was YOURS.
Congratulations on the mile stone. I passed the identical one on June 25. We are practically twins in our path to retirement.
Greetings, and congratulations. A half a year will pass in a flash, and I hope you are doing the same thing I am, which is to prepare for the next stage. As I see it we are hitting our stride in the YOUTH of OLD AGE,
Greetings to Raymond, and maybe he will remind you we have met in Orlando, at a diner, after hours, years ago.

Thanks all. After I showed this thread to Jeanne she made a few corrections. It seems that we will have only been married 46 years in September - not 47 (who's counting when you're having fun?).
Also, she will begin receiving Social Security in January but will not actually retire from her job until the following year - January, 2011.
I know none of that is important to you, but I did want to straighten out my mess-ups. Maybe she's right...I should listen more.
