I had to laugh when I saw the headlines on MSN a few minutes ago. Check out what I highlighted. I guess sign people aren't the only orthographically challenged ones out there. It's since been corrected.
Yes, I know there's plenty of political jokes and commentary that may come to mind, but let's keep that out of this and just enjoy the faux pas.

i did a vehicle last week, and it had the WORD ESCAMBIA in it, wellll brainiac that i am, when typing it into corel i did this: ESCAIMBIA!!!!!! did a sign for D.A.V. 9-10 yrs ago, painted it. did nice big D.A.V. then off to the right of it in smaller text was supposed to be: DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS well....i decided to do it phonetically. DISABLED AMERICAN VETRANS. so that wasnt bad enough, BUT NOBODY CAUGHT THE MISTAKE TILL 4 YRS LATER))))))))

I'm guilty, a show card for a show car.... Chevorlet instead of Chevrolet... a fellow hispanics lowrider..kinda seemed okay in the end. LOL! edited to correct spelling!

Pretty much like OP, I did some graphics on a local marshal's car. When I did the emblem, I put the word "MARSHALL", as I'd seen it in about every western movie I can remember. It took several months, and an old-time retiree from the force to come back and say "that ain't right; it only gots one "L". ooopps!

I finally installed spell check in my quills.
"KCs #1 Customer Satifaction Dealer" It was up for a year and they actually called me to come back and recolor it. I did and still did not see the missing 's'. Then a month later I was watching TV and saw it in their ad! It was one of the first pictures in my portfolio!
The how about 'Grand Openin Sale' in 8 foot tall letters....or the 'Sunhine Street Toyota Store'.....but the prize goes to the 30 Acura windshields that I painted "Factory Warranty Remaing". 30 times! 30. Yeah we all get to laugh at ourselves sometimes.
