Recently , google has identified my website as an Attack site. I don't know how this happened and I've been trying to get a hold of my server/host without success. My site is currently being hosted by a friend of mine who is out of the country now and barely responds to his email anymore. Last I heard from him about 4 days ago is that he was going to look into it but for some reason he's being slow in getting me the ftp login info. It's still a problem. I went to my domain provider to get the url of the host it was pointed to and checked them out, emailed them but no help so far. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm website illiterate.

get a new networksolutions hosting package, for abotu 99 a year.. I know someone will chime in and say,, its cheaper elsewhere.. But do not fall for hat . After the others add in their hassles and fees its way more expensive.. And, never again worry about bugs in yer code..

So, if I decide to go with another hosting package, how do I switch? Do I need the ftp/login for my other host? I bought the domain name at cheapdomainregistrations.com and logged in looking for a way to point the site to another host, I guess I can call them. I'm just looking for an easier (cheaper) fix because I haven't paid anything for my hosting in 5 years. I'm probably spoiled now!

...can I say you get what you pay for... We use a mob in London- $99 a year- no headaches & good service. Yes there are cheaper ones, but the more expensive in the long run.

Well, so far I'm $500 ahead on my site hosting. I guess it finally caught up. If I had to do it again, I'd still save the $500 bucks and then pay later when a problem arises.

I am afraid you may be in a fix. Some of these cheap domain registrars hold your domain name hostage. They register your name in under their own accounts. Then some will make you pay premiums to get the name back if ever. However all may not be lost.

No, signscientist.com is owned by me. That's not the problem. I just don't know where the bad codes causing the problems are coming from. My site codes or the hosting. I just got off the phone with my domain people. No help there.
I'm going to have to go through the trial and error on this one I think.

who notified you had an attack site? What does the note say?
If its the server its their fault. If its your website, its their fault.

This web site at signscientist.com has been reported as an attack site and has been blocked based on your security preferences.
Attack sites try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system.
Some attack sites intentionally distribute harmful software, but many are compromised without the knowledge or permission of their owners.
Even though I know it's somebody elses fault. I'm still the one getting the shaft because of it. I have no Idea how to contact the server. My host (and web developer) is out of the country and was really just doing me a favor when he put me on his server because I haven't paid a dime in 5 yrs. I can't blame him because he's in some remote village somewhere in Asia and could care less about my website. I just moved the site to another host, just trying to figure out how to upload all this stuff properly. Hopefully, the site will be up and running soon without all the bogus warnings.
Wow, this really showed me not to depend on anyone for my ftp login and changes. It took me at least 2 weeks to figure this out and I finally did with the help of a few friends.

I switched hosts. Even after that it still had the attack message but I had to go to webmaster tools on Google to upload a google html file to my site to prove I'm the owner, then request a review. A few hours later it was fixed. Google is e-gangster. They put your site out for a hit and you just get whacked. it's amazing how much control they have over the internet. It's kind of funny because it's like they own the internet and can put your site on blast of off blast at will. Pretty scary stuff.
