HI Folks, perhaps Barb & Steve can make this a sticky for the next three weeks (please?)
Letterheads-Oz is underway at historic Cowra, hosted by stalward attendee & life member Brain Petty, from Another Eagle Sign Co.
Date: 17, 18 & 19th October- Friday to Sunday.
See the Upcoming meets page for more info, or contact Brian at eaglesign@sctelco.net.au for forms & info.
I'll be driving down from home on Thursday, in one go- it's about 1200 km- tedious but OK. I hope to then drive on down to the south coast for Shane Durnford's workshop in the following week, for which I've not yet registered (tut tut...!)
Looking forward to another great meet- Brian's a terrific & humble bloke, and the company there will be really good. There's plenty to do for 'old timers' and 'newbies' alike- no one will feel left out!

I will be picking up some Kiwis from the airport on Thursday the 16th of Oct. Plan on having a great time catching up, learning, passing on things that I have been taught. As Ian said, looking forward to another great meet.

Thanks for the offer, Jon- I'll let you know- but I'll be away all weekend- the girls are singing in a country music competition up north- and have coaxed me to take part also (shudder- I'll have to hand out earplugs all round first!)
If Shane's workshop is off, we may sneak down as a half-sized family with Joan & some of the kids, or maybe it'll be just me with you & Peter- I don't know yet. I was going to bring the swag & camp in a corner of the shed.
I appreciate the offer though.

I too shall be up at sparrow phart (3.30am) on the 16th October to get on the big bird to fly over into the waiting embrace of Sir Paul Jordan hehe
The Goldfather Apprentice Mr Jeffrey Harvey shall be my companion on the large bird ferrying us across the ocean. I am well into my version of the Oz Letterheads logo and I am already sooooo excited to be attending my first overseas meet!
I'm really looking forward to meeting a new crowd of nutty signwriters!

Anne, I owe you an apology about those brushes- I lost the pricelist when a week to ten days of emails vanished... but never mind- I can still order them for much the same price via the Aussie suppliers, oddly enough.
However, if there's time, & it's easy to do, I could do with a 10mm & a 14 to 16mm truck flat. I've got enough bigger ones. (thanks!)

Ok Ian I'll see what I can do. I've had to get a health certificate for the 24 that bushie ordered. It cost $25 but I felt it wasn't worth the risk of getting them all taken away by customs if I didn't have one.
I'll have a yarn to the rep, I could put your three in my kit which I'm hoping will be accepted by customs as an artists brush set (others have travelled to Oz and had no worries).
I shall post here when i know if it's all good.
I can't forsee any major problems. My only difficulty in the next few days is physically being at the workshop to contact the rep with another order!!
I've been flat out like a lizard drinking signwriting a very large truck unit. I'm going to post some pics of it in a day or so on here. I haven't stuck a sticker on anything since sunday such bliss!!!

Do any Qld-ers need a lift down to Cowra? I'll be heading down on Thursday morning, with plenty of room in our hiace bus for gear-it's a ten seater plus boot.

I can't believe it's been a year since I saw all of you, and experienced the wonderful country that you have. This year I am tied to work and family and will not be able to attend at this time of the year, although I am with you in mind and spirit. It's been a few personal losses of friend's and family young people; three of them in the last 2 months but I haven't posted about it...just to let you know why I haven't written or been active on the board..and alas happy things too: 3 great nieces and nephews born in 9 weeks! So, have a wonderful meet and I'll be in touch too. I wish I could be there!
