E-mail tells recipients that their credit cards have been charged for a ticket.
hones are ringing incessantly this morning at Sun Country Airlines headquarters in Mendota Heights after a widely circulated e-mail informs recipients that they have been charged for an airline ticket.
The e-mail thanks customers for using a new service called "Buy Airplane Ticket Online" and that their credit cards have been charged $403.03. The e-mail also includes an attachment that allegedly includes the purchase invoice and the flight ticket.
The attachment appears to contain a virus by the name Trojan.Zbot-1715.
The letter tells recipients that an account complete with logon and password has been created for them. It also contains instructions on how to use the ticket, and contains a misspelling of the word printer.
"To use your ticket, simply print it on a color printed, and you are set to take off for the journey!" the letter said.

This illustrates the danger of opening things you didn't expect to receive. Even something coming unexpectedly from a friend does not get opened until I confirm, from the friend, that it's really from them. I ignore every single message I get from PayPal, because nearly all of them are bogus. If I receive anything from a bank or credit card, I don't use the link from the email. I open a web browser, go to their website, and log in to my account.
My mind wanders. And that's not a good thing, 'cause it's too small to be out there alone. Posts: 2159 | From: Midway, UT | Registered: Mar 2005

I once got an email that looked believable from my credit card company, but when I contacted the credit card company they were genuinely upset over the scam that used their name. They asked me to forward the email to their fraud department. Don't know if it did any good but I forwarded it to them.
