I ordered some digital prints from one of my suppliers. I specified Avery HP gloss film. They printed them on Oracal 3640 Calendered 3mil. Will this stuff shrink outdoors? Thanks

You definitely did not get what you ordered. In fact, I'd say you got half of the durability you spec'd.

Thing is, I've had good service from this company for 6 or 7 years. They say they've hired some new people. We all make mistakes. I'm willing to work with folks and give them a chance to do better and correct mistakes. But I mean...it's gettign ridiculous now.....
#1. I sent in this one order for 5-14 oz banners....they charged me for 15 banners. They sent 10 OZ banners...I sent them back Then they sent the wrong size...and I sent those back. Third time, they sent one 14 oz and four 10 Oz After the 4th try they finally got it right.
#2. I ordered a bunch of screenprinted magnetics and some coro signs and sent two files, they stretched the 18x24 coro format to fit 12x24 magnetics...then shipped them to me.
#3 I ordered 2 sizez of screenprinted signs. Sent two separate files specifying which file went to which size. The files were even sized. They took one file and stretched it to fit the other format. Luckily, I caught them before they put them into production.
#4. Now on this digital print order ,I sent an EPS file and a jpg for a proof. I told them in the email that they were to use the EPS. My wife called them and reiterated this. I also ordered Avery HP vinyl They printed the jpeg on 3mil cast vinyl and shipped them 3 WEEKS late.
Iv'e got one last order with them, already in production now...keeping my fingers crossed. But I'll be calling Blake for my next order.

printing a jpg, not the eps file, seems like something a print company, of all things, should know the difference! I would question that. However, The Oracal 3640 is a very nice film (the glossy one). It does shrink because it's calenderd but not much. It surly is not an HP type quality, but the prints look fantastic. I've been using this as our "everyday" vinyl for about two years.. indoor I never worry about it, if the job is outdoor and the customer doesn't want to pay or "need" cast vinyl, I laminate the finished print with Oraguard 200. The finished product is very nice. I've been pleased with our Oracal supplier. Wayne, if it's laminated I wouldn't worry about it as long as it's mounted on a flat surface, but yeah.. not what you asked for.
