Today at appox. noon on his way to bbq/car show, a careless driver(actually four of them) rearended Frank/Scotty, totaling his pride and joy, the Suburban and injuring both he and Scotty.
Frank's injuries are going to take time to evaluate, he's in alot of pain and if you know Frank, you know he won't take any drugs of any kind, including pain medication, it's making me crazy to see such a decent person in pain and can't do anything about it, other than ride it out, something Frank does so well, no wonder my husband is so respectful of his uncle.
This is to let "his",(his words) world know what's happened and that he's ok, at least he thinks so, I'm afraid he's got internal damage and isn't saying so, but it shows in his actions. I guess I don't have to tell you that this pretty well ends his working days, he's going to lose full use of his right arm before this is over. We are just besides ourselves over this, he was just on path of putting his life back together, this will be a terrible setback.
We brought him home alitte bit ago,(truthfully?-he got mad at donut dollies(his term) there and checked himself out, vowing to never return) he's resting as I speak. Scotty's injuries are to his left leg which caught full impact of collision, I guess he was sitting on rear package tray when hit, he landed on front floorboard, under heater duct, he will also heal with time.
Frank's wish is that you know, ours to you is, please, include Frank/Scotty in your prayers, we, his extended family are already on our knees that the good Lord won't hurt this man any further, he's had enough of that for others benefit most of his life, now it's his turn, we thank you in advance. Frank loves you guys and was adamant I write this now and not later.
I will monitor this site for him till Tues. when I have to go back to work, hopefully, he'll be up to sitting and holding his head upright by himself by then.
Thank you. Amy Gafforini
ps: he's got a Tuesday appointment(as does Scotty) with another doctor, one he's more comfortsble with. Not to worry, he's hard to know, but not stupid, hahaha, he heard that and is smiling for us. lol

take care Frank & Scotty... we'll start the prayers way out west here. As you know the rest of your world here will be joining in soon too.
I pray you are spared too much pain & that the prognosis for your recovery pales compared to the consequences of your own will. Also praying for even more speedy recovery for Scotty so you are free to focus your attention on getting your own self healed. Best of luck to you bro!

Hope you get better in a hurry Frank. Hang in there man!
I guess this means I might have to push you around in a wheelchair when I come down for the Veagas nascar race in March. And that would be no problem of course! But hopefully you will heal fast and we can kick around abit. Will keep in touch here and see how you're making out.
A tip of my hat to your strength and courage. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

My wishes and thouhts go out to Frank and to the whole family.
See if you can't get him to use some kind of pain management as he will heal up much faster. Pain can be an enemy. I know cause I've been rear ended twice. Dang it hurts.

Frank, there's no prize for skipping painkillers at a time like this...your body, if it is going to heal at all, will do so more readily, if under less stress, and painkillers will help.
In the meantime, your best wishes are in our prayers- get well really soon, mates!

Poor Frank and Scotty! And poor Suburban! Damn that was a cool ride. Be smart and follow Scotty's lead. If he rests, you rest, etc etc. Please don't let your stubborn spirit get in the way of doing what can help you.
Isn't it my understanding that you taught yourself to use your alternate hand after all your previous health troubles? Hopefully that hand has had its rest and you can switch back over.
Heal up my friend. Love....Jill

I talked to Farnk last nite. Yes he is hurting, no he won't take pain killers, because he is allergic to them.
Didn't get a chance to get all the details, because his cell phone battery was about used up. As we all know, Frank is a tough old bird, he'll get through this just like all his other injuries, with help of all our prayers.

Franque, old seal, my tears will turn to prayer and then praise. Heal hardy. Bring Scotty out to play with Samantha...that'll heal him...and make you smile. If you can find anything to laugh at, that might counter the pain.

Sorry to hear this, Hey Tocayo (persons with the same name in spanish) since you don't want to take the medication, maybe there is other kinds of pain killers. Or put in the Lodi DVD I remember that had you laughing quite a bit, sometimes laughter is the best medicine. Get well amigo, my regards to Scotty.
