Tonight Janis & I went for pizza and a movie together - our favorite date as always for today was our 31st wedding anniversary.
Its hard to believe that 31 years have passed since we promised each other "always". Janis was the first girl I ever dated... I was 17 and she was 16 at the time. I proposed three times before she said yes... Like she is fond of saying "I chased her 'til she caught me."
We dated three years although we had been unofficially engaged since we had been dating only a couple of months. I was twenty when we were married, Janis just shy of 19. Those around us thought us too young - but Janis & I KNEW exactly what we were doing for we had promised each other 'always'.
Its been a wonderful, fun trip through the years... some tough times, lots of exciting times, a ton of happy times, and together all the way. Sometimes its been hard but we always managed to work things out together.
We've been business partners for almost all of those years too.
Way back then we talked of growing old together and I still sincerely hope we get that chance.
Livin' the good life in Yarrow...

Maybe a candle lit dinner in the middle of Giggle Ridge under a moonlit sky, with a big overstuffed bear as your waiter for the evening...lol

As a present to me Janis went to the hair dresser yesterday and had her hair dyed blond. The effect is extremely subtle as it is sort of a platinum color and streaked in with her pretty silver hair.
Dying her hair is something totally out of character for her and yet at the same time doing something like that as a present for me is something totally in character. She's like that.
It was a nice surprise!
It looks great and brings a huge smile to my face.
And blonds do have more fun...

Congratulations! Those numbers are becoming more and more rare.
Dan, it looks like we just turning up more things that make us look alike. Jeanne and I dated for three years before we married, also. She is a few months older than me, so when we tied the knot I was 18 and she was 19 (just barely). This September we will have been married 42 years.
And she just keeps renewing my license every year.
It's good to see that the years have brought you even closer. Keep working together.

Congratulations also, Dan and Janis. May there be more starry moonlit nites for years to come- (for you before and after the grandbabies are asleep ) Love is like a beautiful plant that keeps growing and growing through rain and sunshine, as it needs both.

Best Wishes Dan and Janis......I certainly don't have to tell you that life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of things in life that take our breath away.....Obviously that still works for you both....great...and here's to many many more.
