No, not the "Passion", but since we are on the topic of movies, I saw one this weekend that really didn't get the publicity that it deserved!
"Secondhand Lions" with Robert Duvall, Michael Caine, and Haley Joel Osmot(?) I thought it was a good story, very well done! Since it was billed as a "family" movie, I guess most people overlooked it. Bobby is by far my favorite actor of all time!
A cool bonus was seeing original artwork (briefly) by Berkely Breathed of Bloom County fame, in the movie!

The movie was great! And it's worth buying the DVD just for the brief opening credits. WONDERFUL artwork!!! That way I can stop them and get a good look!

I liked the movie okay, but the closing credits with Berkley Breathed's art was the best part. That Haley Joel Osmont kid just annoys me.
I think I might start modeling my parenting style after the Uncles, though. "Don't know anything about kids. If you need something, get it yourself....better yet, learn to do without."

That Bill Murray movie "Lost in Translation". The working title must have been "Lost in Novocaine". It was so boring- the only thing I was happy about was that I rented it, and didn't get stiffed for $12 at the theater!

I rented Secondhand Lions for tonight. I've heard many good things about it. Plus my wife will like it. I tease her and call her a "Disneyite" because she only likes happy movies with nice endings.
As for Lost in Translation, i have to agree with Steve Burke. Something was lost in translation between the DVD and my brain. It was too subtle or too cerebral? for me. It did win best original screenplay for Sophia Coppola so the academy liked it.

Yaeh, I love Bill Murray, too- in any other movie. I rented this one because I thought it was the one people were talking about at work being awesome...I found out too late IT WASN'T! I remembered after that the person I heard talking about it was my sister-in-law who only enjoys movies no-one else likes... you know, one of those people? She claims to only like "cerebral" movies, but this movie was duh-duh-duh-DULL. It was like Punch-drunk Love- you keep watching, thinking that something earth-shattering will happen, then all of the sudden the credits start rolling, and you're saying to yourself "huh??? THAT's IT???"
Maybe I just missed the gist of it (leave that one alone, Ted N.!!!) but it never seemed to go anywhere. -Steve

Watched Secondhand Lions last night. Both my wife and I really enjoyed it. Thanks Michael for the recommendation.
Sheila, you may like Lost in Translation, it's probably worth a rent (but don't watch it when you're tired! . But i'm with Steve Burke on this one and his comments on Punch Drunk Love. Sometimes about half way through a movie like "Lost..." and "Punch..." you start to get the feeling that oh-oh this is one of THOSE movies.

We rented it last week and really enjoyed it. I really liked all the background characters that showed up too, like the nasty family of cousins who just want the inheritance. I also enjoyed how there were a mystery girl that you just kept getting more and more information about till the end. Very well done!
