Had a stroke 3 weeks ago.

In bad shape.
Right side is ok.
Left side is causing stress. His left anlke seems to be starting to move but his left arm is still not working. They still clearing clots from his body and he has a feeding tub.
As is common with strokes the swallow reflex is not there.

He is breathing on his own now.
Pray he recovers..

I've never met Gavin in person, but the funniest post I've ever read in Letterville was from his authorship. I tried to find it to post a link, but Steve probably deleted it back in the day. [I Don t Know]

Our best to Gavin and those who care for his everyday needs right now. Don't loose your sense of humor. [Smile]

[Cool]

Are you sure, Curtis? There's a Gavin Chachere who passed away "suddenly" in New Orleans on Sept 18th. Born in 1944, I think. Might there be 2 by that name?

Ya know, I saw the same thing about a Gavin in New Orleans.

I’ve always enjoyed Gavin’s candor and bold, honest attitude over the years. I sure hope he’s okay.

I will go by what Curtis reports!
Curtis and Gavin are close friends, so he is on top of this.

The other Gavin that passed away in September was about 20 years older that our Gavin.

I am rooting for Gavin recovering from this!

I hope Gavin is doing better. I've learned a lot and laughed a lot by reading his posts.

Gavin's father.. Had a stroke and passed away..

One week later to the minute Gavin III had a stroke..

He was doing kind of OK considering he was in trouble.. Blood clots in his body. Gave him blood thinner to lose the clots.

He was typical Gavin. Cussing and carrying on about demanding gator aid etc...

Then he suddenly got much worse.. Seems he had a second stroke from a bleeder within the brain..

The second one has him in a bad way. He does not respond and just stares. Calling his name will get his eyes to open but nothing else.
Does not move anything other than his eyes just a little..

Doesn't look good. They may move him this week to some center..

Latest report

He opens his eyes a little.. Will squint them when asked.. But that is all.. Breathing on his own..
Will have a feeding tube from now on. Reacts just a little when pricked with a needle on right side. Nothing on left..
Can look right but not to the left.
No other body control or movement.
Cannot talk. Cannot answer questions..
It looks like our friend is not coming home..
I am so sad..
