I'm thinking of getting a digital printer. I have been in digital shops where I've been bowled over by the chemical smell of printing ink as soon as I walked in the door. The eco-solvent ink is supposed to be low/no odor but I want to hear from others if the smell is still a problem. Because of the setup in my shop, the only way I could do digital printing is if I get a 24" machine and put it in my tiny office, but I have to keep the door closed during winter and summer to keep the heat or A/C in, therefore no ventilation during that time.

I've been using a roland 30" in my 15' x 20' shop for about 7 years.
Maybe I'm just use to it, don't notice any odor from the inks, but do get odors from a couple of the print materials.
Probably should have some sort of fresh air circulation.
Usually just open the door and let it air out, like when I use rapid remover, etc...

I have an air conditioner near the printer that does vent outside, so in the summer when most of my printing is done, there is some venting.

We have a Roland EcoSol and you can't smell anything. We all work within a few feet of it and no problems. I know there ARE some that smell but not our VersaCamm.
