The entire 'holiday collection' is HERE

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years!

Once again, I challenged myself to decorate for free this season. One day I might run out of ideas, but so far, so good! [Smile]

We also spent Christmas in Disneyland (California) this year and had a blast! LOTS of people, but we figured out how to work around that to avoid the lineups. If you haven't been there lately, you would be blown away in the Cars division. Ohhhh my gosh... they created a massive canyon... so hard to believe it's man made. We know someone here that not only would believe it, he's probably made 7 by now. [Smile]

On New Years, we fired up a couple Pirates of the Caribbean movies and ordered in pizza. It was just nice to be home and do nothing.

LOTS of cool stuff to work towards in 2015 with a few local speaking engagements in the mix.

It's always nice to drop in and see what everyone is up to! All the best!

I am a fan of incorporating natural elements into my living environment so naturally I always enjoy seeing how Donna incorporates them into her designs...I have had collections of rocks, mosses, weeds, limbs, and other such stuff collected from my walks in the woods, fields, and streams...but when I married Donna...not to be confused with the Funky Junk Donna...she said she couldn't dust them and they would have to go...so reluctantly they went...nothing of any monetary value...nor anything that I couldn't replace...however of course I kept the fossils that I have found over the years...some literally hundreds of thousands of years old...so a clean house seemed a fair trade off...however in our new cabin the boss lady has given me total control of one room...the man cave...so I have started off with a bunch of Broomsedge I picked the other day....Broomsedge is a weed that grows most everywhere and around here entire fields of the golden weed will often grace the landscape ...next I will be on the lookout for some interesting limbs...mountain laurel...one of my favorites...grows plentiful along the southern face of the bluffs along our stream...soon I'll take a walk along it's banks and look for just the right limbs to bring back to the man cave.

Thank you Donna for recognizing the beauty in something as simple as a limb.

Charles! That's crazy! I would have loved to meet up! I'll try and be a little more vocal in this group. I'm one of those people that do well with Facebook prompts of new posts... Letterville, you need a FB page or group! [Smile]

Rusty, you sure have my number on the nature thing. Nearly everything I made this Christmas had something to do with branches. I'm a rustic woodaholic and nature never does it wrong. LOVE the broomsedge! I also wish I could get ahold of cotton stems fresh from a field from the south. LOVE that stuff and I've yet to ever see a field in real life. It's on the bucket list.

I love seeing how Lettervillian artists decorate... it isn't often shown. But it's every bit as equally creative as an amazing sign.

Donna...south of me about 75 miles is where the cotton really begins...though everything has been harvested by now there may be places where some has been missed and is left standing...next time down that way I'll be on the lookout for you...though unlikely...if I do run across anything nice enough I'll get it and let you know.

By the way the wooden duck under the lamp I have kept all these years as a reminder...it was the very first thing I ever carved...I was working as a car mechanic at the time...the wood is wormy butternut.
