Since I left the 'ol dayjob, I've been able to focus more on doing things to the house in my style.

First up was to somehow flip a pretty ugly single car garage into a dream workshop... for free! By a non builder type.

No challenge there, right? [Big Grin]

I get offers to sponsor all kinds of fancy stuff, but for the workshop, I've turned it all down. I wanted to set an example that it's truly possible to get where you need to go with little funds and lots of creativity. Plus... no one sells what I like anyway...

Everything was found on the curb or in front of some dumpster. From tables to metal racks to pallets to everything in between. The links below the pics show the whole story.

Here's where it is so far...

-

Metal rack

-

Enhanced pallet tool shelf

-

-

Crazy workshop wall

-

Just another curbside find...

And the good news? I'm able to be totally productive and it's only ½ done. So I'm working out of half a single car garage.

And here I thought I needed to move and get a barn. [Smile]

Anyway, having loads of fun, and doing well!

i don't know Donna...I'm highly suspicious of work areas that are that 'clean'. You sure things are getting done??
Just kidding; I saw this on your website...fantastic!
Keep sending us updates, Thanks!

when i was doing the interior of my work bench space in my shop, i wanted 10-12 of those tuff plastic MILK CRATES, you know those that are like a "cube". i went to the local dairy products trucking/warehouse. they had 1000's of these. i asked the guy there if i could purchase 10-12. now this is what i was told:
if you want them, you gona have to go steal them!!!!!!!!!! I AM NOT ALLOWED to sell them!!!!!
REALLY???? yep!!!! so i spent a few nites skulking behind a couple grocery store, and one day i was in a parking lot, with a truck from the dairy company i went to buy em........talked to the driver......and he gave me the remain 4-5 i needed))))))))))))great for tool storage....the 9...under the bench, are all one unit held together with plastic cable ties.

Still too neat, Joe.
What are those cables between the bench grinder and corner? Do they keep up the bench?

those "X" 3/8" steel cables are part of the metal buildings wind load stress transfer system.
what they do, is tie the big steel column on the left to a smaller one, in the corner to the left of the electrical circuit box. in the ceiling they are easier to see in any metal building.(fan pic)they are what keeps the building together in high winds.

Cool Stuff.
I've been thinking about a pallet wall in my billiard room like the ones seen here.

http://www.diyncrafts.com/7476/decor/15-creatively-genius-diy-wood-walls

I though I would only go half way up and put a chair rain on top.
If your into pallets, it's a free way to do a wall. Maybe some of your logo branding like you did the stair case would be nice.
