Like being on a fast moving treadmill here... 173 new graphic files created in Sign Department, another 93 new graphic files in print dept. Havent crunched numbers, but likely to set a record...

Last month was the third hottest June on record here. Glad it's over. Of course, the heat wave doesn't bode well for July.

One bus on our main breaker panel fried yesterday afternoon. I had all three AC units going and then they quit cooling. The fans on the condensing units were barely running, the table saw and microwave quit working, a shop fan was turning only about a hundred RPM. I started wondering if the voltage was low and went to the main breaker and smelled smoke. One side melted and was reading 85 volts. The electrician showed up at 5 PM and we worked until 11 PM replacing the guts of the panel. We didn't want to replace the box because of all the pipes coming in and out. I'm back to being cool and keeping the electric company solvent in Texas.

How big does a file have to be before you consider it a graphic file? [Smile]
How do you judge the amount of time spent on a design done by the graphic file?
Or do you only have one file per job? Does it mean you can't start over if you are not liking the design?
I oftentimes have 4 or 5 or 10 files per job. Does that mean I was busier? I am sorry I don't get it. [Smile]

A file could be anything, just means we created something, a decal, a sign, a business card, a flyer... anything. Could be a simple layout or one that took some time and the number of files say nothing of quantity of items.

A lot of our work is industrial, creating "DANGER - FALLING ROCKS" or some variation thereof using standard symbols and fonts doesn't take a lot of time. and undoubtably we also did repeat orders from older files.

For us thats an extrordinary amount of files to do in a month, normal is about half that, and the only reason I notice at all is because our filing system is numerical yy/mm/file#.

Interesting.
I created 3 new graphic files for the month, but had the most profitable month this quarter.

Fleet graphics will do that to ya. 5% design time, 95% installations.
