A powerful tornado which ripped across a small town in Georgia, swept up everything in its past and then roared north into Tennessee, finally dumping a shop sign more than 112 miles away.

Linda Summitt of Knoxville, Tennessee, could not believe her eyes when she walked into her front garden and found the sign for the Remco Business Center.

But it wasn't the stray cardboard "FOR LEASE" sign that really caught her attention. It was where it had come from - some 112 miles to the south from the town of Ringgold, Georgia.

Damn tornadoes! My heart goes out to all in their wake and the loss of human life is tragic.

We are no stranger to tornadoes here and we've had a couple go through our town. One swept away the buildings that existed where our shop is now, so I'm hoping the odds that one won't strike in the same place twice are in our favor.

Now with early warnings we have a better chance to take cover. These things are one of the meanest rascals on the planet. Their devastation is absolute. This has been a real, real bad year.

I was at a Toyota store several years back, out on the lot, talking to the owner about a recent terrible storm that destroyed a town about a hundred miles to the south and as we were talking, down floated a cancelled chack from the heavens. It was from the devastated town. I have heard of 'kiting' checks, but that one really was a stretch.

Tornados are the scarest things... we are so so lucky we don't get them. Snow and Ice don't really compare. I was outside and thankful I didn't have to letter this truck & trailer today because of the wind... then I thought wow... this isn't wind....

Soon, I'll be lettering inside the polebarn. Never thought I'd be excited for concrete or pavement. Takes 28 days to cure for heavy stuff. so excited.

I heard about a little girl that was found 100 feet from her house under a couch. That is TRULY SAD! It was wicked... I heard 1 mile wide. The interviews said it only lasted 3 seconds. Wow! That is wicked. My prayers go out to them too.
