The past week I think I found out the meaning of an ear worm: the Matchbox 20 lyrics and music "I wish the real world, would just stop hassling me" keeps replaying through my mind. [Rolling On The Floor]
I'm really wishing that I had some time to spend on my own art, but I have way too many irons in the fire right now and I'm not so good at juggling them especially when it involves co-ordinating other people.

What music speaks to you? [Razz]

Oh my, my husband was listening to "Whiskey Drinking Woman" by Nazareth, on the way to camp last week & I woke up with it in my head this morning! Ugh! No, it doesn't speak to me, it just plain STUCK to me! [Wink]

But lyrics that speak to me AND stick to me, are from a christian rock group called Skillet, "Soak my heart in gasoline, light a match, consume me..."

Here is some of my recent favorite lyrics:

I read somewhere that you got to beware, you can't believe everything you read. - Jack Johnson

You can call us Aaron Burr by the way we're droppin' Hamilton's. - Lonely Island

Did I at least try to kiss the prettiest girl
At the right time? Did I remember to keep your beer as full as mine? Did I remember to say cheers? Did I at least try to make sure everybody had a good time? Had the best time. - Alkaline Trio

There was a young girl, who's heart was a frown
Cause she was crippled for life,
And she couldn't speak a sound
And she wished and prayed she could stop living,
So she decided to die
She drew her wheelchair to the edge of the shore
And to her legs she smiled you wont hurt me no more
But then a sight she'd never seen made her jump and say
Look a golden winged ship is passing my way

And it really didn't have to stop, it just kept on going...

Castles made of sand -Jimi Hendrix

Probably my favorite of all time:

She comes out of the sun in a silk dress,
Running like a watercolor in the rain.

I don't want my MTV- the story must be told.
Everytime I watch it I feel like I'm gettin' really old. Plus they never play a thing to ever satisfy my soul.
I don't need no choreography- I'm gonna leave that to Brittany Spears. I just wanna play it fast and loud like I been doin' for years. So turn off the tube, it's hurtin' my eyes and my ears.

Walter Trout

It'll shine when it shines- You might think I'm wasting time but I'm just a good old boy that's learned to wait.

Ozark Mountain Daredevils

She's been up all night she got crows walkin' 'round her eyes. But she can still raise her glass in a toast to a well ran dry.
He left her on a Tuesday still, with gin whiskey and a bottle of pills. Now she's waiting at the Jackson station looking over the hill.

Band of Heathens

Angel wings that flutter, and hearts that soar. Life could be no better when I walk through that door. They're my home they're my heart, makes me feel I'm a part- of my girls and their little angel wings

Mark Fair

To me, one of the most beautiful songs ever written from a lyrics point of view is "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce. Every word of that tune is so perfectly crafted.
