Last evening my wife Jeanne's mother (Jo Allen) ended her journey here and went home to be with her Lord.

She was 84 and had suffered with many health problems over the past years. She was a cancer survivor, but her heart problems could not be overcome in her later life.

She departed under hopice care at a local nursing home, surrounded by family. Her life was one of service to her five children and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends.

Jeanne is now the oldest member of the family and will assume the position of the matriarch...which she has been performing for the last few years.

Everyone is exhausted from the constant care given to Jo (her real name was Emma Lurlene but no one dared call her that) over the past few months, but now content with the fact that she is resting in a much better place.

Always sad to see a loved one pass Ray, but nice to be able to take comfort in knowing it's not the end, but just a new beginning. Cherish the memories.

Raymond and Jeanne, so sorry for your loss; may your memories and your Mom's spirit be with you to sustain you. She was so fortunate to have you support her through all her last days. I surely would want that most of all to be surrounded by family and friends when that day comes. Take care.
