Last week-end I had the chance to hold my second 'Dimension-101' workshop in Montreal. It was once again a great success and the comments and feed-back I'm getting from the attendees is beyond my expectations.

I wanted to post these a bit earlier but ended up so swamped this passed week that it just flew by untill today. Here are a few pics from the class held in AXYZ's Montreal based sales office.

The workshop was originally advertized to be held in English and to my great surprize, the people that commited to the class were again all from the Montreal area so the class was again held in French (and that sold me another seat...) In all, eight attendees showed up and we all learned together and had tons of fun !

This brings with it a question : is there still a market for people wanting to learn the techniques of 3D signmaking and if so what would be the prefered time of year ?

thanks to all.

I still want to go to one of your workshops. It's a good thing I didn't make this one because I'd have ended up in a hospital up there, which would have been rather distracting.

For me, late October/early November and late April/early May work best... but any summertime trips north of Dallas are also a good thing.

Rene is a terrific teacher. I am not much good at French, but Rene is equally comfortable in both official languages. In fact, I think Prime Minister Harper should support him as our next Governor General. Wouldn't that make Ottawa sit up and behave.
My French is mostly limited to 'ockey lingo.

I'm really happy for you Rene, you're a great person in real life, alot of fun, and know your stuff when it comes to routing, software and techniques.

I would love to come over and just spend some time with you again....at the moment I'm banned from Canada, by Åsa until I start doing some stuff to show her its all worthwhile [Smile]

As Dan would say you have to make the time. Its been a long winter over here, and there are many things "extra" on the list both home and at work.

I'm sure there are good markets for 3D signs, and new techniques, its just getting customers to see the extra value and pay the difference rather than going for something simpler.

Glad it went well....now back to those Challenge 2010 pieces [Smile] ....well abit later! Still just into month 5.

Too bad you're locked out of Canada Henry, it would have been nice to see you again... Have you tryed inviting her to Canada? We have tons of stuff she would love here like shopping to IKEA, Nordic Spas with Swedish massages ans stuff.... oh wait... wouldn't that be like a Chinese tourist that buys a little souvenir only to find out he was the guy that built it !!!

Oh well, she would still love it around here...

Thanks guys, but I really would like to know what's the best time of year to attend one of these. I was thinking probably late october/early november. If it's the case I would probably make a date public for this fall and see if enough people are willing to commit. It would be held in English, in Montreal this coming fall.... any takers ???

For me, it depends on how things go in the next few months. I have commitments October 15-17, so any time after that is very tempting. I really want to go to one of Rene's workshops. His work is over the top and I want to soak up as much of his input as possible.

A NOTE OF WARNING: If you plan to attend after recently having stitches, you do so at your own risk. Rene is one of the funniest people you'll ever meet.

Rene, I thought it was supposed to be this weekend?

I would have gone last weekend.

Glad to hear all went well.

Peace,
Bob

We would love to come anytime it's not cold (below 50 degrees). First, we need to start working again to make some money to be able to travel. Things are still slow here, work is sporadic. Hope to see you sooner than later [Big Grin]
