This guy wants me to paint an insignia on some panels for his trunk (show car) and he is covering them with vinyl like that on the seats. Has anyone painted on this type of fabric and what did you use?

Since the insignia has little lions and a little bit of detail I would like to be able to tape off for other colors and not have to wait a week for the paint to dry, like I seem to have to do with 1 shot. Of course maybe I'm not using 1 shot properly either - hey at least I admit it or should be admitted [Wink]

Brian, Use vinyl screen printing inks thinned with lacquer. Or add japan dryer to 1-shot. Don't paint and tape on fresh paint. . . .you should free hand it. John

You could also go to a crafts store and buy some of those lil bottles of latex paint. They cover wells, have a nice gloss and stick like crazy to that vinyl fabric. (Did a cartoon on the spare tire cover on a buddy's Winnebago at least a dozen years ago....still looks good, even tho the fabric is starting to disintegrate.)
