Hi i've just now, started to get back to "normal"after one of most heart lifting meets . The bullpen at the USSC sign show was graced with the excited, hopefilled eyes of some of the Signtex boys and girls club. this program allows kids to participate twice a week to learn a trade and an alternative to the negitive peer pressures all around them. Bruce could explan this program much better than myself, but he can't figure out how to log on. Can you believe he wants me to figure out the computer? Anyway, My soul was refreshed working side by side with these wonderful, eager to learn, hopeful kids . "Mr.Bill" recieved the key to the city from the Mayor , and yes this year Bruce made us all cry. But we made Carol M. and Caroline C. cry. Mr.J made lots of people cry as usual. But back to the KIDS, please send a holiday greeting card and your own thoughts to thoses wonderful kids at : Signtex 901 Arctic Ave. Atlantic City 08401 It will more than you'll ever know. Peace& Love AJ

Nice to meet you Alan. Another heart lifting idea you got there.

Maybe everyone who sends cards should throw in a business card too. Not to get a xmas card back, but I know I collected cards this weekend & for kds with panels (& those awesome painted desks that were donated)... business cards from sign painters will probably interest them like they interested me. [I Don t Know]

Alan - Doug-

Do you happen to have the contact info (phone) for Jesse who was running the SignTex program?

I've got some books and an unused plotter that would make a perfect home there---

What an inspiring group of folks to put that all together for those kids. Man, to make a difference in one of their lives - priceless.

It was so amazing to see the look in their eyes as they watched the masters of the craft share information--

Dan

Hi Dan, sorry, I don't have a number for you.
that sounds like a great offer though. I wouldn't be surprised if Alan has that info... I'm sure Bruce does. You could even call the Mayor [Smile]
He was already impressed with the letterheads, but then he would see how the spirit keeps growing! Cool deal Dan!

Naturally, being there to "work" in the EstiMate booth, I did not have much time for my Signmaker walks but when I did I went to see the kids in the bullpen.

One little boy, no more than 8, was working with a striper in his right hand, on the usual panel with the grid. He did the right side of a beautiful curve, starting at the center.
He switched hands. He then, carefully counting squares, did the left corresponing side with his left hand, and, I am witness, it looked really really good.
He was proud, and so was I and he listened happily when I told him so.

It was a great show in the Atlantic City tradition of great shows. It's always my favorite. And this time I was lucky enough to meet Doug Allen, and Karyn Bush. And saw many of our letterheads whom I had already met before.

All in all a wonderful last show of the year for me.
