Ok... I keep getting this pop-up from my Norton thingie saying something is trying to access the internet and I need to configure a rule for it. Something from Windows/system/bin. djohn.exe.

What is that? I can't find much doing a search online. I think it's some type of hacker program, so I am guessing I should tell Norton to ALWAYS block it, huh? How do I remove it, if I should?

I know I've been getting alot of security alerts lately.

HELP!!!
Thanks guys!!!

Dana it sounds like a virus or trojan thing to me too, let Norton Block access to the internet and then run a spyware program like adaware, if that doesnt solve it try a virus scan.

I already did the adaware thing and it didn't take it out. I scanned the file itself, but nothing about viruses.

What a pain... LOL!!

Dana,

Do a search on you're hard drive for the file "djohn".
It sould locate the file and you can delete it from there.

Hope this helps....

Dana,

It may be one of those "Blaster"-type virii, they try to hook up to the internet automatically. You may need to end-task the program then delete it from your HD. You might also wnat to look at your registry- they usually insert themselves there so that they keep re-loading.

I found a link on the net that says it may be a hacker program trying to break into websites. Do a Google search for djohn and see what comes up.

Hiya Dana,
A yahoo search turned up nothing specific but a lot of pages referred to "DJohn is a parallel password cracker".
Check out this link to see if this will help.
