I've had a request for approx 250 wine labels. Anybody print these, or can you recommend a wholesale printer that produces them? If you printed them yourself, how much would you charge for them? I do have an alps 5000 printer that could finally make me a little money, but I could probably farm them out for less than the ink cartridges would cost.

What would you do?

I'd sell the ALPS 5000 on Ebay and farm out the work. Just got $250 for my 1300 last week.

SueLynn,

Call Ron Percell in Petaluma, CA...he is knee-deep in the heart of the CA Wine Country. I'm sure this has come up for him at some point or he would know of a supplier.

Sorry, I don't have the number at my fingertips.

Hi Suelynn,

I print labels for a local candle company, we use clear label stock with gold medal foil for the print, they are very classy looking. The cost depends on the size of the label actually, if you could e-mail me the details, I would be happy to give you an estimate.

Suelynn,

Those types of labels are generally done by a commercial printer on stuff called "dry gum". It is just paper with adhesive on the back that is dampened then applied.

Our pastor had a family reunion and had use print a label he put on oil bottles. We did them on the gerber. They turned out really nice. I can check on the prices if you like. It was a year ago so I don't recall what it was. But if you want we can do that if you like.
