Something of interest, Gigposters are fun....a lot like the show cards of old. I have been doing club flyers and posters for years but this is the event for it, great work by great artists with a lot of sign type layouts.

Sorta reminds me of a business in downtown Knoxville, on Gay street. They have a bunch of old (I mean old) block printing equipment, which they still use as a business. Mostly gig posters.

There's a style to that block print artwork, a highly posterized, funky, jazzy sort of style, so unique, so cool.

Walking back into their operation is a joy. Floor to ceiling shelves of typefaces of blocks, and loads of illustrations. The presses and most of the blocks are antiques that the owner has aquired in his travels. The type of place you wish you could pitch a tent and camp out in for a couple of days.

I just put a note on my to-do list, to see if they have a website address I can post here.

I used to do all of the posters for my fraternity parties (we had a party every two weeks!). I had a blast doing it. Really stretches you to do different things. I miss it, actually.
